Rachel Stevens may not be S Club 7’s lead vocalist. But the 37-year-old still made sure the spotlight was on her as the group kicked off their sold-out Bring It All Back tour in Birmingham on Thursday night. The stunning brunette looked in better shape than ever as she took to the stage in a shimmering gold bralet and black high-waisted trousers. As she danced with her bandmates, Rachel proudly showed off her taut tummy and toned arms in the revealing number. Joined by Jo O’Meara, Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Bradley McIntosh, Jon Lee and Hannah Spearitt, Rachel looked like she had a blast as she performed a number of the band’s classics for a cheering audience, including S Club Party and Don’t Stop Movin. Taking to her Twitter account afterwards, she wrote: ‘Thank you SO much Birmingham you were amazing! What an incredible night! X.’
Speaking to MailOnline ahead of the tour, Rachel admitted that hit show ITV2’s The Big Reunion was never an option for S Club 7. Instead, they decided to discuss matters privately. ‘We were approached to do lots of things over the years, but for us it was about the right time,’ she explained. Jon added: ‘I also think we were quite different from a lot of the other bands as well. ‘Especially as we had things like the TV show so that set us aside from the other groups so we maybe didn’t really fit into that. Plus there’s so many of us as well.’ Hannah then pointed out: ‘And this is a big celebration, it’s amazing watching the Big Reunion but this is just a chance to have a S Club party. I did go and watch the Big Reunion show actually. While Bradley acknowledged: ‘I think everyone who went on The Big Reunion was very brave to go on there and tell their stories. It was quite deep some of it. Jo then stepped in: ‘And for us, we all get on and there’s no tension or anything. We’re like brothers and sisters. We love each other more now than ever really. ‘At least I do anyway’, she laughed while Tina puller her into a hug.
