South Shields will ‘reach’ for the stars this Christmas when S Club Party turns on the town’s festive lights. The 90’s pop-group, which currently features Bradley, Jo and Tina – three of the original members of S Club 7 – will ‘bring it all back’ to help the Mayor of South Tyneside, Councillor Richard Porthouse, with the switch on event on Saturday 21 November, at the junction of King Street and Ocean Road. The Mayor said: “This year we have a cracking line-up for the South Shields light switch on, which is always one of the highlights of the festive season. I’m looking forward to having Bradley, Jo and Tina join me onstage to help with the countdown to the town centre’s illuminations. I’m sure the people of South Shields will give S Club Party a warm welcome. S Club Party will entertain the crowds by performing a selection of their iconic hits, which are sure to get everyone singing along to their favourite songs. S Club Party said: “We are so excited to have been invited to switch on the Christmas lights in South Tyneside. And we are looking forward to seeing all our fans and singing a few hits for them.” The festive entertainment, including street entertainers from balloon modellers to stilt walkers, gets underway at 3.30pm on Saturday 21 November ahead of the official switch on event at 4.30pm.
