She’s a singer, a model, a presenter and former member of S Club 7, but above all Rachel Stevens is a doting mum to her two daughters Amelie and Minnie. The London-born beauty has spoken exclusively to HELLO! about her family life and how her children will always come first.

Rachel and her husband Alex Bourne have just returned from a blissful nine-day holiday in Portugal, where they enjoyed some down time with Amelie, four, and one-year-old Minnie.

“It was lovely to have some family time in the sun and be with the kids,” said Rachel, who, in the past six months, has performed in the Strictly Come Dancing tour, been a judge on The Voice of Ireland and reunited for a string of gigs with S Club 7. “It was the first time we’d been on holiday with Minnie too. The villa we stayed in was fantastic, it had a lovely pool and the girls had a great time.” Amelie got to practise her doggie paddle – “She thinks she’s an athletic champion” – said Rachel, while baby Minnie took her first steps, which was “a really special moment”. Speaking about her hands-on husband, the Reach singer, who was staying at the Villa Vista do Oceano in West Algarve, added: “He thinks he’s the stricter one and that I’m a bit of a soft touch.” By her own admission however, Rachel can be a bit of an anxious mum. She said: “I’m naturally a worrier, but I think the second time round [with Minnie] I’m a lot more chilled as I feel like I know what I’m doing a bit more. “My children are my priority. I’m always thinking, ‘Are they okay?’ Amelie is starting school in September and there’s so much to think about, making sure everything’s sorted. You have to be really organised when you’re working.”
