Reunited pop band S Club 7 headed to Salford yesterday to talk about their new tour which comes to Manchester Arena in May 2015. Reunited pop band S Club 7 were bringing it all back on a visit to Salford – as they revealed more details of their upcoming tour, their first in 12 years. The chart-topping band had fans a-buzz earlier this week when they announced they will head out on the road next year, calling at Manchester Arena on May 8. after reuniting for Children in Need. And the seven bandmates – Jo O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee and Bradley McIntosh – headed to Salford on Tuesday where The Diary caught up with them for a chat about the new tour. Jon said: “This time we’re going to be more creatively involved than we had been in the past so we’re all looking forward to that. We’ll sit down in March to start rehearsals, but we’ve all got plenty of ideas about how we want the tour to look.” Bradley added: “Our last tour was Carnival themed so people know what to expect, that it will be a big show. I think this tour should be called Nostalgia. Tina said: “it’s very much a celebration for us and the fans who have been showing us so much love.” The band sang a medley of their biggest hits, including Reach, Don’t Stop Movin’ and Bring it All Back on Children In Need on Friday night. It was the first time their fans had seen them perform together since they split in 2003, after releasing four albums, a movie and starring in several children’s TV shows such as Miami 7 and L.A. 7. The band told The Diary their reunion has been in the planning for two years, Hannah said: “once we found a date in the diary that we could all make, it was pretty easy to get us all together.” And this time around the group are all determined to have fun with it all. Tina said : “The first time around we were young, we were growing up and making all our mistakes. But now we are older and wiser and can just relax and enjoy it for what it is.” The group can’t wait to perform again at Manchester Arena, which they hailed one of their favourite cities. Jo said: “Manchester was always the best, the arena was where we filmed our DVD because it was always so good here.” Have they picked some flamboyant outfits for the tour? They all laughed and Jon said: “It was a struggle just to choose what to wear this morning to be honest.” Although The Diary reckons they all looked pretty snazzy on their visit – particularly the girls, with Rachel rocking a fabulous retro blue skirt and nude heels, while Hannah dazzled in a fringed pink top.
Tickets go on sale 9am Thursday, 20 November.
