After what seems like a long time but worth the wait singer Tina Barrett is back with her classy sexy hot debut solo single Makin Me Dance. Tina has been busy working away to bring the perfect fresh new sound that is her debut solo single and future album release. With live shows coming up, single promotions Tina kindly took time out of her schedule to speak with Music Promotions about what she has been up to, music plans, live dates and much more….

Can you tell us more about your single?
1. Makin Me Dance is a smooth and sexy song with a bit of a reggae vibe to it. The video’s shot in LA it has a Bonnie & Clyde Tarantino style storyline. I’m so excited I hope people like it

Is there a story behind it?
2. I wrote Makin me Dance when I was very hung over! So it’s about going out on the town when you’re tired and want to stay home but your crazy friends get you out so the song takes you through all the emotions that may go through your mind through the night a possibly the morning.

Is this the style we can expect to hear more off from you?
3. Yes definitely I’ve always listened to and been inspired by R&B and soul music artists like Billie Holiday, Prince, Aretha Franklin are always on my playlist. I’m really enjoying pushing myself as an artist and it’s great to finally have the freedom to do that, my follow up single to MMD is a track called woman.

Can we expect any calibrations?
4. I’ve been very lucky writing with grammy award winning music producers including William Orbit and Beenie Man and traveling the world being a bit of a hippy/artist and also working with new artists/bands on dance choreography including featuring in Asian pop star Navin Kundra’s world music hit Shudaayi last year.

With the voice and X factor is this a route you ever considered exploring?
5. No but I would love to be a mentor of course.

Who in the charts at the moment are you listening to?
6. Drake, Robin Thicke, Jay Z, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams

Who inspires you as an artist?
7. Prince, Billie Holiday, madonna.

When can we expect an album release from you?
8. Yes next year.

Can you talk us through any tracks that you have written and recorded so far?
9. I’m in the middle of recording the album so watch this space but I will say that’s it’s really soulful and will surprise a few people and I’m super excited

Have you any live dates coming up? Any possible supports?
10. I’ve already started doing some live gigs this year which is amazing and scary! really enjoying performing again I have a few shows coming up which will be announced on my twitter follow me for updates on @realtinab1 and my official web page.

11. My new single Makin Me Dance is out on iTunes on November 3rd.
